BoA's Top 15 Korean Songs - #12 - The Shadow

If "Moto" was showcasing BoA's abs, "The Shadow" is all about BoA's cleavage, and if that isn't enough reason to watch one of BoA's MVs, well, it sucks to be you.

I love the MV for this song, and BoA's brother has always done a great job with the MVs since BoA came back to Korea. The MV starts out with BoA in the white dress looking like a queen. The tree above the clouds represents the fact that no one is within BoA's league. Then the rest of the MV showcases BoA dancing among mortals while showing off how hot she is. Maybe the songs true meaning is that everyone else will be stuck in BoA's shadow. Yeah, I understand the lyrics, but if other K-pop fans are allowed to make shit up about MVs and songs, so can I!

"The Shadow" definitely reminds me of her older songs with a more modern sound. The beat isn't that fast for a pop song, sounding like it could be a mid-tempo song by today's standards. What helps this song is the strong bass line, otherwise this song could have been pretty forgettable. The rest of the instrumental is drowned out by the bass. However, the bass helps keep the verses entertaining enough to listen to until we get to the chorus, which is pretty good.

Overall, "The Shadow" is a very good song, and it was a great idea for BoA to promote it along with "Only One," as the songs have contrasting styles.

Why Australian adverts need to learn from Korea

What I've learned whilst enjoying the k pop scene, is that Korean adverts do it better than Australia. Might be different for you, but down under, our ads are terrible. Take Sprite for example: Suzy for Sprite Ads for Sprite in Korea happen to include well-known idols and fan service. Do you get the point? Boobs. Fan service. Great, perfect, love it, I want more. Now. For comparison, let me show you how these ads are for Australia. No fan service. No well-known celebrities. No fan service. It's a wasted opportunity. If our ads actually had something worth watching in them, I would watch more TV, but they don't and so I won't. Are ads better in other places of the world? Or am I just not watching TV at the right times? It's also not just Sprite that takes use of fan service for their own goals. Kellogg's  has recently released photos of their new model. And it's a damn shame we don't utilize this in Australia.

Pritz to go on hiatus

You're probably thinking either one of: a) who the fuck are these nugus? b) who the fuck cares? a) better than your shitty faves b) SJWs who think they defeated the Nazis Pritz are going on hiatus due to the personal issues of one of the members, who has not been named. Apparently, she's having trouble with juggling both group activities and studying. Fortunately for fans, they decided to wait and hope that she's able to return instead of kicking her out and replacing her or disbanding. They've also left Crazy Cowboy for us to enjoy in the meantime, so there's that. In the meantime, there are quite a few girl group comebacks scheduled for soon. What are your predictions on who will suck the least?
