Crayon Pop - FM

Crayon Pop teamed up with Shinsadong Tiger, so the group should have its first good song, right?

While I've been busy catching up on songs I have missed in the past month, I found out my main nigga Shinsadong Tiger, who has composed plenty of hits for my two favorite groups, composed a song for a group I cannot stand.

...The result actually turned out better than I expected. It's a B-rated T-ara song without a catchy chorus, but it's actually listenable unlike the other shit they have released until now. Unfortunately, the song has a roughly 20 second rap break which almost killed the song for me right there. However, the rest of the song is fairly good, with the verses holding up well, but this song could have used a stronger chorus.

Getting to the MV, I found this highly unrealistic for Crayon Pop to be a gang of heroes. The first problem is having those two twins who suffer from Down Syndrome. I'm not a huge reader of Marvel or DC Comics, but show me a superhero that has Down Syndrome. Maybe Crayon Pop is being innovative here. Next we have Soyul, while cute, stands in at an impressive 4'6", so no villain would take this shawty seriously. Then you have Ellin, who would be too busy watching her nails and shit instead of fighting. Gummi has to shoulder everything alone. That probably explains why she needed two Master Chiefs to help her defeat these lame ass monsters that wear their underwear on the outside.

[MV Review] SHINee - "1of1"

After over a year of waiting SHINee follow up the awesome "View" with the decent "1of1." Onew is still incredible. Would totally jump onyu. There is no better to way to start a SHINee review, not even sorry. (I would leave it at that but seeing as I wasn't hired for my trolling abilities...) "1of1" is just okay. That's it. It's not terrible it's not great. It's just pretty decent, and I'm inherently fine with that; however I'm used to SHINee's releases musically blowing me away and this just ain't it. This song is like bubble gum, it's starts off really nice but eventually you either get sick of the same flavor being in your mouth or the gum loses it's flavor and you have to eventually spit it out and wash it down with some  refreshing ice water . The song starts off nice however the initial sound just isn't strong enough to sustain the rest of the song. Better luck next time guys. The video is the highlight ...

[MV Review] BTS (Bangtan Boys) - "Blood, Sweat, and Tears"

BTS make their, what? 17th comeback of the year? I honestly lost count, they comeback 20 times a year anyway.  Okay, first thing's first - I have to get this out of my system: More on this later. If you've enjoyed BTS's release since "I Need U" and up then this song should be right up your alley. It's got all the same gadgets and gizmos as their more EDM-heavy songs however it removes the very hip-hop elements out, making it a more commercial release that's right in between hip-hop and pop. The result is a more upbeat dance-hall vibe that is very dance-floor friendly. The vocals and the rapping don't outshine each other hear, nor does it sound like each member is fighting to be heard (which is one of the many faults of "Boy in Luv.") The song sounds very cohesive and runs through like butter. My favorite part has to be, for once, the bridge. It's oddly lush and chill which was a nice change of pace from the more fast paced parts of the so...

[MV Review] AOA - Heart Attack

The pretty girls are AOA! AOA starts off the summer deluge of girl group comebacks, which means that this summer will be pretty fucking awesome. The MV starts out with the AOA girls sans Seolhyun playing a game of lacrosse. Seeing as how bad the girls got raped in the game, I would say that the team they were playing must be playing for Duke . During their pitiful attempt at playing a game, Choa gets knocked down by an opponent. He takes off his helmet and Choa falls for him. Choa definitely wants it up the ass from this guy. However, once the song actually starts, it shows the AOA members and the other lacrosse team in the same classroom. I know Duke has high admission standards, thus the whites and Asians in the classroom, but did they stop affirmative action because I didn't see any other minorities in the classroom. Seolhyun is introduced as the new student, and all of the dudes want to bust a nut on her ass. Later on, Choa writes a letter to do dude she's lusting after, bu...
